Art Advisor
Our long-standing Art Curator Pat Woollard recently stood down, and is now our Art Advisor, supporting our Art Team. Well done Pat for your contribution over many years! Pat recently wrote this piece:
Way back in 2011 Anne Blessley, founder of the Friends of Bushey Museum, then in her eighties and becoming a little frail asked me if I would take on the mantle of Art Curator, a little while later Hugh Lewis, then Chairman of Bushey Museum and Art Gallery, approached both John Gerry, who had been assisting Anne, and myself, about the vacant position of Art Curator. I immediately thought it a good idea for us both to share the task and, as it proved, our co-operation was a success, in as much as we brought different ideas and capabilities to the job, helping the progress of the Art Galleries.
Now it is time to move on yet again, so approached Hannah Schonholz, mentioning I needed a successor and she immediately agreed to become Bushey Museum and Art Gallery’s Art Curator! Well done Hannah! Such has been the enthusiasm, the hard work, the dedication of a number of volunteers who work behind the scenes that I have nominated them as The Art Team, see above.. Well done all!
I have been involved in Bushey Museum since the beginning of the Friends and I am keen to contribute as Art Advisor.
