Outings

Saturday 21 June 2025
Outing to Charleston House, Firle, East Sussex
Our summer outing is to Charleston. The farmhouse with its eccentric decor and beautiful gardens, nestled in the beautiful South Downs, was the home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant of the Bloomsbury set. The Gallery will be exhibiting Inventing Post-Impressionism and Izumi Kato. Click here to download the Booking Form.

Tuesday 25 November 2025 (please note change of date)
Outing to 'Christmas at Kew'
Outing by coach. Last year we booked to see the Christmas Lights display at Kew Gardens - but sadly a severe storm forced Kew to cancel the event for the day we were due to go. Tickets sell out rapidly, as early as May. Secure your place by phoning Rita Castle 01923 236852. Click here for more details.

Wednesday 20th August 2025
William Morris Gallery, Walthamstow.
A visit to the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow, which celebrates its 75th year in 2025. Built in the 1740s, the Grade II* listed building was William Morris's family home from 1848 to 1856 and now serves as the only public Gallery devoted to William Morris, English Arts and Crafts designer and early socialist. It includes the exhibition 'An introduction to Morris Mania and Women in Print—how Britain’s greatest designer went viral'. There are two major exhibitions to celebrate the 75th year: 'Morris Mania: How Britain’s greatest designer went viral', and 'Women in Print: 150 Years of Liberty Textile Designs'.
Half day (morning) outing by coach. Cost: £25 per person. Do let us know if you are interested. Click here to download the Booking Form.

Monday 8th September 2025
Outing to Kenwood House, Hampstead.
Heiress: Sargent’s American Portraits
Sargent was one of the most celebrated artists of his age. On the centenary of his death, the exhibition brings together his portraits of American Heiresses for the first time. This special exhibition reveals the fascinating stories of the American women who crossed the Atlantic to marry British aristocrats. Women who changed the face of British politics, funded war hospitals and flew helicopters to the Ritz. Kenwood House is set in wonderful gardens with a café and specialist shops. Click here to download the Booking Form.
Coach leaves Bushey Centre at 10am and will return early afternoon. Cost £37.00 inc. per person.
If interested, phone Rita Castle on: 01923 236852.
